Aircraft Spins Wildly into Palm Trees at Well-Known California Beach
A helicopter hovering over a well-attended coastal beach abruptly began spiraling out of control, eventually descending rapidly and crashing into a row of palm groves as onlookers watched.
Footage uploaded on social media capture the helicopter starting to spin near Huntington Beach then descending towards the edge of the coast, where it ends up lodged among palm trees and a steps near the Pacific Coast highway.
Emergency Response Update
The Huntington Beach fire department said five persons were transported to a medical facility involving two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” after the incident on Saturday.
Three persons on the pavement were injured. Information on their wounds were still under review.
What led to the incident was not immediately released.

The department said the helicopter was linked to an annual “Cars N Copters” benefit occasion scheduled for the following day.
