Los Merengues forward Vinicius Jr has expressed regret to supporters for his reaction when taken off in Sunday's heated El Clasico win.

Vinicius was taken off in the second half and displayed his annoyance by going straight to the dressing room.

Vinicius eventually reappeared to the bench and, following his side's 2-1 win, attempted to approach Barça's Lamine Yamal during unsavoury after the game incidents.

"Today I want to say sorry to all the supporters for my behavior when I was taken off in the derby," the player shared on his account.

"In the same way as I have said in person during the latest practice, I would like to apologise again to my teammates, the team, and the club president.

"Sometimes emotion takes over me because I continuously aim to triumph and support my club. My determined nature stems from the passion I hold for this institution and all it represents."

He signed for Madrid from Flamengo in recent years for £38.7m and has accumulated over a century of strikes in numerous matches.

But his prospects in the Spanish capital is uncertain with rumors in lately stating that Real would consider allowing the 25-year-old depart if they were to receive a good proposal.

When the winger was substituted on Sunday, broadcast footage from network the platform picked him up remarking: "It's always me! I'm exiting the club! It's better if I depart, I'm going."

In his most recent message on X, Vinicius said: "I vow to keep striving constantly for the welfare of the club, as I have done since the first day."
